Seems like the spring is in a full mode here in Midwest and I am hoping that it is here to stay. (WELL I guess all of us do) Some interesting comparisons on todays ride that I have noticed: 1. I can consistently perform bettter and feel much better riding here in Wisc/IL as oppose to Hawaii. I have no idea why, but it seems it's just so. Plus the back pain that I have been experiencing there is gone, even thou I am still riding the same bike (I wish somebody could explain that to me, but maybe just the difference of the bed will probably do it). And as for the easy feel, I am sure the heat has something to do with it too. 2. There is a lots of bugs here.... and unlike those in HI or Europe, these bugs here bite. They are not going to exactly bite you on the bike, but somehow they always either hit my sunglasses, helmet or land in my mouth as one did today at the start of the ride. (good thing I was wearing arm warmers). 3. The potholes. There are just so many, but the scenery is great! Next to everything great! So with easy 80K today in a saddle and few minutes away from a leg workout all I need right now is for the market to show me some direction (but that is a different book). Happy riding, and don't forget to be safe out there! |

Hi, all. It has been a while since I have posted. My sincere appologies. I am finaly comming home from a long training/searching trip. We have accomplished the mission we came here for, however my training could look little better in the last 3 weeks (but I guess one can get sick in paradise too). I will just make a real quick oversimplification here of what my training looked like. 3 days a week of cycling (about 20 - 40 mile sessions and one longer one, 50 and above) 2-3 days of swimming (either ocean or pool, usually nothing longer than 1 hour of total swim time) pretty much just long distance and technique 2-3 times a week running, which would consist of 2 shorter runs (about 40 min - 1hr runs and) and 1 longer run about 1.5 hr to 2 hr. and stretching, some walking and hiking....surfing didn't go so well :))) but there is always next time. As soon as I come home I will let you all know what is going on with a next set of training round and will post more what to times and distances. Chicago, I am back XOXOXO

Howdy everybody, I have started a new section on Training, As you can see it's titled "Training Plans". I will later divide it into 4 categories, Running, Cycling, Swimming and Other (transitions, cross training and weight lifting). I thought it would be great for me (and hopefully some of you can learn a little something from this story too) to start this one with a little history of my own Running experience. Tune in, it will be here shortly and from that point on I will try to log in my workouts for you to see on a regular basis too. Gabi |
